WANG'URU STADIUM CONSTRUCTION, KIRINYAGA COUNTY SET TO BE COMPLETE BY AUGUST
August 2021 is the set time for the completion of Wang’uru Stadium in Mwea, Kirinyaga County.
The contractor, Vee Vee has done 82% of the entire project as indicated by the County Development Implementation and Coordination Committee (CDICC) led by the county commissioner.
Addressing the media at the facility, Kerugoya County Commissioner, Jim Njoka, who chairs CDICC said government engineers are closely monitoring the project to ensure that it meets the set standards and is completed on time.
The county commissioner led the team during inspection of development projects funded by the national government in the county.
The stadium includes construction of a VIP pavilion in concrete, steel pavilion stands and roofing of earth terraces in a steel roof structure.
Expected to be completed within 6 months, the project which began in December 2020. During a development tour which held a meeting in the facility, the President directed the construction of the facility in early last year.
Especially in the hospitality industry, the county commissioner noted that once complete they will tap many local talents as well improving business activities.
To ensure the problem is solved, the committee also said the main challenge is storm water and they are working with the county government.
